SAFETY
Yes definitely; we recommend performing this test before every application, even if you have previously used this product without a reaction.
Performing this test before every application is at best an indicator only, but it cannot guarantee an allergy-free experience. There is always a risk of an allergy and that risk must be assessed and undertaken by the customer. No one should or can guarantee an allergy free experience.
We cannot guarantee that you will not experience an allergic reaction whilst colouring your hair. Many people can develop a sensitivity to a variety of different ingredients over time without notice.
Stop using the colour immediately and rinse out the colour mixture thoroughly. If the reaction is severe or unbearable please immediately contact your health professional for medical advice. This hair colour is not compatible with you; do not use this colour again.
Unfortunately we cannot refund used products. Using a DIY home hair colouring kit carries some risks; one of those risks being an allergic reaction, among others. However, if the product is brand new and unused then we will be glad to refund the purchase price of the product once you have paid for its return to us or the original point of purchase. If the product is used in any way, then unfortunately we cannot refund the purchase or return of that product.
Any brand guaranteeing a reaction-free experience whilst colouring your hair is careless and unethical. For example, some people have an allergy to water (aquagenic urticaria), which causes hives when the skin comes in contact with water. In our opinion any brand guaranteeing a reaction-free experience should be avoided.
Any brand claiming that their product contains absolutely no toxins is careless and unethical.
For example, water contains toxins that, at excessive levels, can be very toxic to humans.
In our opinion you should completely avoid brands that claim their product is toxic-free or contains no toxins.
One of the biggest false claims is “chemical free” products. Any brand claiming that their brand is chemical free is careless and unethical. For example, water is a chemical; it’s proper chemical name is Dihydrogen monoxide. In our opinion you should avoid brands that make the false claim of “chemical free”.
Many factors determine the possibility of an allergic or other reactions to hair colouring products. These include but are not limited to: your current state of health, your current internal toxic load, your current intake of medication, the existence of permanent makeup and especially the existence of tattoos on the body. These can all increase the likelihood of an allergic reaction while colouring your hair.
Place a small amount of a mixture of the product on the inside of your elbow and let it dry and do not wash it for 48 hours. Next, if there has been no swelling, rashes, or itchiness during this period, you should be able to proceed to the application of the product.
You should not use this product if you have had any allergic reactions to hair colouring products, or if you have a sensitive or damaged scalp or rash. In these cases it is important to consult your physician prior to colouring your hair.
We do not recommend colouring your hair if you have a medical condition. It is important to see your doctor to ask if the ingredients in the product are suitable for you to use or not.
If you are pregnant it is important to see your doctor to ask if the ingredients in the product are suitable for you to use or not.
Safety or appropriate suitability of any product during pregnancy is highly dependent on each individual situation and should only ever be assessed by your health professional who should know your needs. Many pregnant women choose to use Aromaganic colours happily, however this definitely needs to be an informed individual choice.

It is highly recommended that you DO NOT try to colour your eyebrows, any other facial hair or any hair on your body other than the hair on your scalp.

PERFORMANCE
Aromaganic has the ability to provide 100% full grey coverage. It is used in many professional salons as their No.1 Choice for green colour. If you choose the correct colour it will deliver superior performance.
Absolutely not. The picture on the front of the box is only an indicator of the possible colour that can be achieved. This colour can be achieved if the hair is 100% standard grey and the colour is applied generously. Example: Red colour on very light hair is very noticeable and the same Red colour on very dark hair is barely noticeable.
You can choose another Aromaganic shade that is darker top apply to your hair. Many customers will go darker gradually, 1 shade at a time. We suggest that this gradual process is better than immediately choosing a shade that is more than 2 shades darker.
You will need to visit your hairdresser to have it professionally lightened. We DO NOT recommend lightening your hair with the many DIY at home lightening products on the market as these will certainly contain a typical hair bleach, which we never support for DIY at home use.
A stand test will help you or your hairdresser determine if the final colour result is satisfactory to your required needs. We suggest you do a stand test first. If you are happy with the result of the strand tested then continue to colour the rest of your hair.
Choose a small strand closer to the rear of your head that you would like to colour. Mix a small amount of hair colour creme and hair colour developer in equal parts. Apply it to the chosen strand. Let it develop for the full time as required in the directions. Rinse of as required by the directions. Dry and check to see if the colour is satisfactory to your needs.
Unfortunately we cannot refund used products. Using a DIY home hair colouring kit carries some risks; one of those risks is choosing the wrong colour and achieving an unsatisfactory colour result. If the product is brand new and unused then we will be glad to refund the purchase price of the product, once you have paid for it’s return to us or the original point of purchase. If the product is used in any way, then unfortunately we cannot refund the purchase or return of that product.
Depending on how quickly your hair grows, you should only need to colour your hair once every 4 weeks.
It is highly recommended that you wait “at least 6 weeks” for the henna to reasonably wash out before colouring your hair with Aromaganic as you might have a reaction or not achieve any colour deposit on the hair.
There are some shared risks with DIY at home hair colouring. Just like in a professional hair salon it is not possible to guarantee that every customer will achieve the results they want. Despite this, there are many happy repeat customers for Aromaganic. Additionally, it is not possible to receive a refund for a used product for any reason.
Yes, every Aromaganic hair colour is mixable with each other. In fact, many people mix a “Natural” shade with a “Fashion” shade to help them better achieve the results they are aiming for.
No, unfortunately Aromaganic can not achieve “true” Ash reflects in the colours. The reason is that at the moment it really requires the inclusion of PPD to achieve a very “true” professional Ash result.
Other brands are beginning to market a PPD-free Ash reflect in their colours, however it is not a “true” professional Ash result. When the technology becomes available we will find it, make sure it’s safe and include it in Aromaganic.
INGREDIENTS
Unlike some other countries, in Australia the packaging law states that all manufacturers must state the full chemical name of all ingredients on the packaging. The only chemical name exempt is water, which has one of the scariest chemical names (DHMO) or Dihydrogen monoxide. The chemical name “Dihydrogen monoxide” means “two hydrogen, one oxygen”: H2O.
That is definitely misinformation. It is true that the World Health Organisation allows for a maximum use of 10% TDS in hair colouring formulas. This is in comparison to a maximum 4% PPD in hair colouring formulas. However all this proves is that TDS is much milder than PPD.
For example the maximum TDS that is in any Aromaganic hair colour ranges for less than half of 1% up to 3.5%.
There is a lot of dangerous and unethical misinformation online regarding this ingredient. TDS is definitely a different ingredient with different traits. That is why it can be tolerated by more people. There is much reputable research proving TDS to be a milder alternative for people wishing to permanently colour their hair. Only real, neutral and reputable research should be taken into account when deciding to choose a suitable alternative for you.
Aromaganic use (TDS) Toluene-2,5-diamine sulphate, which is proven to be a much milder ingredient and that can be tolerated by more than 50% of people.
Aromaganic would simply like to offer a proper professional permanent change hair colour alternative to the ever increasing amount of people who are aware that they are sensitive to PPD or that would like alternatives over using hair colour products that contain PPD.
Phenylenediamine is a large family of ingredients. PPD (p-Phenylendiamine) is one of the many ingredients belonging to this family. Another ingredient that belongs to this family is Toluene-2,5-diamine sulphate (TDS), This is definitely a different ingredient to PPD. European cosmetic packaging law requires that the family name of Phenylenediamine is used. Aromaganic believe that it is important to state the exact ingredient so that people can make an informed choice.
PPD (Paraphenylenediamine) is a substance found virtually in every permanent hair dye, even ones that claim they are totally natural. It is usually hidden under different names. Increasingly there are many henna products, especially “black” henna, containing PPD. It is considered to be one of the most allergy-prone ingredients and was named world-wide allergen of the year in 2006. It can cause irritations such as contact dermatitis, swelling and itching of the face and scalp. Other irritations can include burning, tingling, sensitivity, redness and hives. Sensitivity to PPD is increasing, with people sometimes requiring medical assistance. Although hard to believe, there have been some deaths blamed on PPD reactions.
Aromaganic organic based hair colour is a proper professional permanent change hair colour that guarantees to NEVER USE PPD (Paraphenylenediamine), ammonia, resorcinol, parabens or typical hair bleach crystals in any colour formula.
