SAFETY

YES
There is a way to identify if the Aromaganic you purchased is a genuine original product.

Attention:

It’s important to be cautious as there are potential risks of encountering fake or counterfeit Aromaganic sellers online.
If a seller does not prominently display the “AROMAGANIC OFFICIAL STOCKIST” Logo, we cannot assure the authenticity of the Aromaganic product you are purchasing.

When you see the “AROMAGANIC OFFICIAL STOCKIST” logo displayed in accordance with our standards, and only when issued to the seller by us, then we can guarantee the following:

  1. The product is authentic.
  2. It is not a counterfeit.
  3. The product is fresh and within its expiration date.
  4. The product will perform as intended.

However, please remain vigilant as some resellers may unlawfully use this logo.
Only we can verify if your seller is legitimately displaying our official logo.

Of coarse, Aromaganic products are available directly from us, the official home of Aromaganic.
They are also accessible for purchase in reputable hair salons, health stores, pharmacies, and authorised online stores.

We can only guarantee the freshness and legitimacy of products from approved stockists.
Please reach out to us via email, and we will confirm if your reseller is authorised to sell genuine Aromaganic products.

NO
We cannot guarantee that you will not experience an allergic reaction whilst colouring your hair.
Many people can develop a sensitivity to a variety of different ingredients over time without notice.

YES
Even if you have previously used this product without a reaction..
It’s easy to shrug it off if you’re reinventing yourself as a redhead (for the umpteenth time),
but this is one step in the colouring process not to skip, ever.

Even if you’ve been colouring your hair for ages, it’s still always possible to have an allergic reaction to hair dye – even if you’ve used that exact same hair dye before.
Allergic reactions are rare, but they can be severe – the patch test helps indicate potential reactions ahead of time.

Luckily, it’s super quick and easy to do.

NO
Performing this test before every application is at best an indicator only, but it cannot guarantee an allergy-free experience.
There is always a risk of an allergy and that risk must be assessed and undertaken by the customer. No one should or can guarantee an allergy free experience.

4-step tutorial to do it with ease.

Here are our *hair dye patch test instructions*:

Summary

_Apply a small amount of dye to skin_

_Wait 48 hours_

_Check for reactions. If there are none, proceed to colour_

_Go on to colour your hair if test is negative_

For the patch test you will only be using a very small amount of colour crème and the equal amount of developer.
2mls of each the colour crème and 2mls of each the Colour developer should be enough to create the 4ml mixture for the patch test.

If you close the cap of the crème colour and store it correctly it should be fine to use for another 12 months. The same applies to the developer.
PLEASE NOTE: When making the mixture for the test patch, Do not break the special application seals on top of the combing lid on the developer bottle.
To access the developer please unscrew the cap off totally and pour out 2 mls and re-screw the cap back on tightly.
The same with the tube of colour, Unscrew lid. Break the seal, use 2mls of creme then screw the cap back on tightly.
It should keep for another 12onths or when you are ready to use it.

Tip 1) To patch test your hair dye, apply it to either the inside of your elbow or behind your ear or both if you are able too.
If you’re wearing earrings, remove them before getting started. Pour a little bit of your mixed colourant(4 mls of mixture) onto a cotton bud. Using the bud, dab a small amount onto either the inside of your elbow or behind your ear, applied to an area of skin around the size of a small coin (1-2 cm² is fine). Allow it to dry completely.
Then, reapply in the exact same way, two or three more times, making sure you let it dry between each application.

Tip 2) To check for an allergic reaction, leave it on for 48 hours…
So how long do you need to leave this *hair dye allergy test* on your skin? It takes two days to get the results of your hair dye patch test. Why 48 hours? In order to detect a potential allergy to the hair dye, you need to give your immune system time to respond. Most allergic reactions will occur within 48 hours of skin exposure, hence the 48-hour window for the *hair dye patch test*. 24 hours won’t be enough time to rule out a reaction, so be sure to leave it on for the full allotted time. While you’re doing the test, be careful not to wash, cover or touch the area.

Tip 3) To rule out an allergic reaction, look for these signs…
Once the 48 hours is up, your *hair dye patch test reaction* results are ready. If you notice any itching, redness or swelling on the area where you’ve applied it, then you’ve experienced an abnormal reaction. If that happens, do not apply the product to your hair.

Tip 4) Go on to colour your hair…
If you haven’t noticed anything strange in the skin test area, then you can colour your hair. Go back to your bottle of dye, mix it up and apply it according to the instructions, then switch the focus to getting your colour perfect. Remember: if you experience any of the reactions mentioned in tip 3 above during the colouring process, you should rinse it out immediately.
Top tip: If your strands are in need of repair, go for the AROMAGANIC Colour Revive Hair Mask .

Enjoy your fresh, new colour! Just don’t forget to pencil in a few minutes for a patch test before you get your next touch up.

NO
Unfortunately we cannot refund used products. Using a DIY home hair colouring kit carries some risks; one of those risks being an allergic reaction, among others. However, if the product is brand new and unused then we will be glad to refund the purchase price of the product once you have paid for its return to us or the original point of purchase. If the product is used in any way, then unfortunately we cannot refund the purchase or return of that product.

Stop using the colour immediately and rinse out the colour mixture thoroughly.
Follow the instructions on the box for safety.
If the reaction is severe or unbearable please immediately contact your health professional for medical advice.
This hair colour is not compatible with you; do not use this colour again.

Avoid Dangerous claims like these.
Any brand guaranteeing a reaction-free experience whilst colouring your hair is careless and unethical.
A Professional and serious brand should never make claims that their products guarantee a reaction free experience whilst using any products and especially whilst colouring your hair.
It is dangerous to make such a claim.
For example; some people have an allergy to water, this allergy is called (aquagenic urticaria), which causes hives when the skin comes in contact with water.
In our opinion any brand guaranteeing a reaction free experience is dangerous and reckless and should be avoided.

Any brand claiming that their product contains absolutely no toxins is careless and unethical.
For example, water contains toxins that, at excessive levels, can be very toxic to humans.
In our opinion you should completely avoid brands that claim their product is toxic-free or contains no toxins.

One of the biggest false claims is “chemical free” products.
Any brand claiming that their brand is chemical free is careless and unethical.
For example, water is a chemical; it’s proper chemical name is Dihydrogen monoxide.
In our opinion you should avoid brands that make the false claim of “chemical free”.

Many factors determine the possibility of an allergic or other reactions to hair colouring products.
These include but are not limited to: your current state of health, your current internal toxic load, your current intake of medication, the existence of permanent makeup and especially the existence of tattoos on the body.
These can all increase the likelihood of an allergic reaction while colouring your hair.
PPD followed my Resorcinol in hair dyes are the most common reason people have reactions when colouring their hair.

If you have a medical condition we do not recommend colouring your hair with any hair dye until you have spoke with your health professional. It is important to see your doctor to ask if the ingredients in the product are suitable for you to use or not. Suitability is highly dependent on each individual situation and should only ever be assessed by your health professional who should know your individual health needs. For Example; Aromaganic is very popular with patients that are in remission from Cancer treatments like Chemotherapy.

If you are pregnant it is important to see your doctor to ask if the ingredients in the product are suitable for you to use or not.
Safety or appropriate suitability of any product during pregnancy is highly dependent on each individual situation and should only ever be assessed by your health professional who should know your individual health needs. Many pregnant women choose to use Aromaganic colours happily, however this definitely needs to be an informed individual choice.

No brand should assert that they are inherently safer than others.
Many individuals experience allergic reactions to PPD or Resorcinol, commonly found in standard hair dyes, making it challenging for them to dye their hair without adverse effects.

With Aromaganic’s formulation free of PPD, Resorcinol, and Ammonia, we offer an alternative for those allergic to these components commonly found in DIY hair dyes.
However, it’s essential to note that the safety and suitability of any product depend on individual circumstances.
It is crucial to consult your healthcare professional who understands your specific health needs.

While many individuals happily use Aromaganic colours, it’s crucial to make an informed decision based on your unique situation.

It is highly recommended that you DO NOT try to colour your eyebrows, any other facial hair or any hair on your body other than the hair on your scalp.

Visit our step-by-step instructions page here.
However, always remember to perform the 48 Hour patch test first.
The instructions are on this page.

PERFORMANCE

Aromaganic has the ability to provide 100% full grey coverage. It is used in many professional salons as their No.1 Choice for green colour. If you choose the correct colour it will deliver superior performance.

Absolutely not.
The picture on the front of the box is only an indicator of the possible colour that can be achieved. This colour can be achieved if the hair is 100% standard grey and the colour is applied generously. Example: Red colour on very light hair is very noticeable and the same Red colour on very dark hair is barely noticeable.

You can choose another Aromaganic shade that is darker top apply to your hair. Many customers will go darker gradually, 1 shade at a time. We suggest that this gradual process is better than immediately choosing a shade that is more than 2 shades darker.

You will need to visit your hairdresser to have it professionally lightened. We DO NOT recommend lightening your hair with the many DIY at home lightening products on the market as these will certainly contain a typical hair bleach, which we never support for DIY at home use.

A stand test will help you or your hairdresser determine if the final colour result is satisfactory to your required needs. We suggest you do a stand test first. If you are happy with the result of the strand tested then continue to colour the rest of your hair.

Choose a small strand closer to the rear of your head that you would like to colour. Mix a small amount of hair colour creme and hair colour developer in equal parts. Apply it to the chosen strand. Let it develop for the full time as required in the directions. Rinse of as required by the directions. Dry and check to see if the colour is satisfactory to your needs.

Unfortunately we cannot refund used products. Using a DIY home hair colouring kit carries some risks; one of those risks is choosing the wrong colour and achieving an unsatisfactory colour result. If the product is brand new and unused then we will be glad to refund the purchase price of the product, once you have paid for it’s return to us or the original point of purchase. If the product is used in any way, then unfortunately we cannot refund the purchase or return of that product.

Depending on how quickly your hair grows, you should only need to colour your hair once every 4 weeks.

It is highly recommended that you wait “at least 6 weeks” for the henna to reasonably wash out before colouring your hair with Aromaganic as you might have a reaction or not achieve any colour deposit on the hair.

There are some shared risks with DIY at home hair colouring. Just like in a professional hair salon it is not possible to guarantee that every customer will achieve the results they want. Despite this, there are many happy repeat customers for Aromaganic. Additionally, it is not possible to receive a refund for a used product for any reason.

Yes, every Aromaganic hair colour is mixable with each other. In fact, many people mix a “Natural” shade with a “Fashion” shade to help them better achieve the results they are aiming for.

No, unfortunately Aromaganic can not achieve “true” Ash reflects in the colours. The reason is that at the moment it really requires the inclusion of PPD to achieve a very “true” professional Ash result.
Other brands are beginning to market a PPD-free Ash reflect in their colours, however it is not a “true” professional Ash result. When the technology becomes available we will find it, make sure it’s safe and include it in Aromaganic.

INGREDIENTS

Unlike some other countries, in Australia the packaging law states that all manufacturers must state the full chemical name of all ingredients on the packaging. The only chemical name exempt is water, which has one of the scariest chemical names (DHMO) or Dihydrogen monoxide. The chemical name “Dihydrogen monoxide” means “two hydrogen, one oxygen”: H2O.

That is definitely misinformation. It is true that the World Health Organisation allows for a maximum use of 10% TDS in hair colouring formulas. This is in comparison to a maximum 4% PPD in hair colouring formulas. However all this proves is that TDS is much milder than PPD.
For example the maximum TDS that is in any Aromaganic hair colour ranges for less than half of 1% up to 3.5%.

There is a lot of dangerous and unethical misinformation online regarding this ingredient. TDS is definitely a different ingredient with different traits. That is why it can be tolerated by more people. There is much reputable research proving TDS to be a milder alternative for people wishing to permanently colour their hair. Only real, neutral and reputable research should be taken into account when deciding to choose a suitable alternative for you.

Aromaganic use (TDS) Toluene-2,5-diamine sulphate, which is proven to be a much milder ingredient and that can be tolerated by more than 50% of people.

Aromaganic would simply like to offer a proper professional permanent change hair colour alternative to the ever increasing amount of people who are aware that they are sensitive to PPD or that would like alternatives over using hair colour products that contain PPD.

Phenylenediamine is a large family of ingredients. PPD (p-Phenylendiamine) is one of the many ingredients belonging to this family. Another ingredient that belongs to this family is Toluene-2,5-diamine sulphate (TDS), This is definitely a different ingredient to PPD. European cosmetic packaging law requires that the family name of Phenylenediamine is used. Aromaganic believe that it is important to state the exact ingredient so that people can make an informed choice.

PPD (Paraphenylenediamine) is a substance found virtually in every permanent hair dye, even ones that claim they are totally natural. It is usually hidden under different names. Increasingly there are many henna products, especially “black” henna, containing PPD. It is considered to be one of the most allergy-prone ingredients and was named world-wide allergen of the year in 2006. It can cause irritations such as contact dermatitis, swelling and itching of the face and scalp. Other irritations can include burning, tingling, sensitivity, redness and hives. Sensitivity to PPD is increasing, with people sometimes requiring medical assistance. Although hard to believe, there have been some deaths blamed on PPD reactions.

Aromaganic organic based hair colour is a proper professional permanent change hair colour that guarantees to NEVER USE PPD (Paraphenylenediamine), ammonia, resorcinol, parabens or typical hair bleach crystals in any colour formula.

THE WARM FUZZY STUFF

Other brands use the term “Clean” to mean Vegan or cruelty free;

Actually, for us, every product has to be Vegan + Cruelty free + Paraben free,
that is just our basic starting point at AROMAGANIC .

It’s OK, But that’s NOT enough.

AROMAGANIC like to be very clear on what we mean when we use the term as part of the description for a particular product in our range.
So what does the term “Clean” mean to us here at AROMAGANIC?

We use this term only when we can guarantee that we DO NOT add the ingredients PPD, AMMONIA, RESOCINOL, PARABEN, SLS/SLES, PERSULPHATES, PEGS, PHTHALATES and DEA to that product.
At the moment we use the term “clean” as part of the description for our Hair colour ranges called AROMAGANIC CLEAN COLOUR ORGANICS

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The fact that there is no set solid meaning or guideline to using the term “clean” when operating in the world of cosmetics manufacturing or marketing, makes getting clear and honest information about a product nearly impossible. Especially the minefield of online misinformation.
It’s made even worse by some brands who are very unethical in their behaviour when they purposely create confusion and fear to drive people to their “solution”.

We stick to using only the facts. Nothing else.
Our product speaks for itself. Our history speaks for itself.
And Hopefully our clear and honest truth will help you to navigate the info minefield a little bit better.

If you disagree with what the word clean means to us, and you feel you believe it means something else to you in regard to our product, then that’s ok, we respect your opinion.
It’s also ok to drop us an email to share your view about the subject, we might not always be able to reply right back but rest assured that we respect your opinion as we trust you respect ours too.

However, please know that we’d be very sad if “misinformation” was a reason for you to stop using our beautiful products.
We are and have always been super confident that, when it comes to the DIY at home hair colouring and home haircare segment, Aromaganic have no equal.
We are 100% confident that if you were to do a “side by side” or “ingredient for ingredient” comparison to any so called competitor in the same space, proper professional style hair colouring that is,
